Central Queensland University in Rockhampton offer students the opportunity to begin University studies in Year 11 and 12.
  • Students must be performing at an average ‘B’ level or above to be considered for either program.
  • All tertiary study students are given a subject line devoted to their studies with support from a teacher on staff and university program staff.
  • Students who successfully complete their coursework and meet all the prerequisites are guaranteed entry into either of these universities.
  • Each 6 credit course equals 2 credit points towards their QCE.
CQ University SUN (Start Uni Now) program gives high achieving academic students an opportunity to get a head start on their career by enrolling in university courses while they are still in high school.
Students in Years 11 and 12 can undertake individual university courses to experience tertiary study and focus on particular areas of interest. Studies are completed via online learning and tele-tutorials; under the support of the CQ University Australia’s SUN program coordinator and our campus mentors.
SUN offers a discounted rate for the courses studied. Financial assistance is also available.
Students are expected to purchase their own textbooks, study material and cover any other additional expenses.
