Fostering success and individual pathways for all students
Students in Years 7 and 8 engage in the learning as outlined by the Australian Curriculum. We work closely with our feeder schools to create supportive classroom groupings for our incoming Year 7 students. Our Heads of Departments work with their teaching teams to determine classroom groupings for our Year 8 students.
Students in Year 7 study the following subjects:
- English
- Maths
- Science
- Health and Physical Education
- Humanities rotations: History, Geography, Civics, Economics and Business
- Technology rotations: Food and Fibre, Engereering Principals and Systems, Digital Technologies.
Students in Year 8 study the following subjects:
- English
- Maths
- Science
- Health and Physical Education
- Humanities rotations: History, Geography, Civics, Economics and Business
- Arts rotations: Drama, Visual Arts, Media Arts and Drama
We are currently rolling out a new leadership program. Students in Year 7 engage in a two-day Leadership Program during Term 1 and we plan for Year 8 students to engage in a Leadership Camp during Term 3 from 2026 onwards. Both of these opportunities are provided with the vision of supporting student wellbeing, leadership skills and social and emotional development in these crucial years where our students are developing their identity.
These academic and interpersonal development opportunities are important foundational steps in preparing students for success and individual pathways in Years 9-12.
