Fostering success and personalised pathways for every student
At Biloela State High School, our middle school program is designed to support students as they continue their studies of the Australian Curriculum and prepare for their future pathways, whether continuing on to senior studies in Years 11 and 12 or transitioning directly into the workforce (for full time employment)
Year 9: Students have the opportunity to select electives based on their interests and strengths. These choices will help guide their preparation for the pathways they may pursue in Year 10 and beyond.
Year 10: Is the entry point to Senior Schooling. Whilst students continue their studies in the Australian Curriculum they are again given the opportunity to choose electives that will support their desired study or career pathway. A range of strategies are provided to assist students in making informed decisions about their future. These strategies include:
- Emu Gully Leadership and Development Camp (optional)
- SET Planning Process and Interviews
- Transition Days to explore Senior Subjects
- Holiday Work Experience Opportunities
- Short Course in Career Education
- CERT II in Skills for Work and Vocational Pathways
These initiatives are designed to support students in their decision-making process, whether they choose to continue their studies in Years 11 and 12 or enter the workforce after completing Year 10.
