Cattle Show team
Students at Biloela High School have the opportunity to participate in the Cattle Show Team.
Each week after school, the team practises parading and judging in preparation for the shows they attend. The students also contribute to breaking in and preparing the cattle for competition as the school is a registered breeder for Droughtmaster Stud.
The Cattle Show Team has. in the past. had great success with students winning judging competitions at state level at the EKKA and also winning Supreme Champion at shows as well as picking up many ribbons at local shows during the show season.
This program gives students many opportunities which they may not have living in a town or on a commercial property environment. The skills learnt and practised range from public speaking, team work, communication, leadership, work ethis, animal handling and organisational skills. These skills are required not just in an agricultural school environment but also help the students in real life situations where they can use these skills after they leave school.
