Minimum requirements for a device:
- Laptop or tablet (with keyboard) with a minimum of 4GB RAM.
- Windows 10 / Mac OSx 10.12.x operating system (or newer).
- More of 128GB total storage (SSD or HDD). 256GB is preferable.
- Wi-Fi 802.11n/ac or better (Must support 5Ghz).
- Minimum battery life of 6 hours.
- At least 1 USB port.
Other items recommended to purchase:
Protective case and/or School bag with padded laptop pocket.
Accidental Damage Protection Insurance (ADP).
Other information
Windows Security (Including Windows Defender Antivirus) is built in to Windows 10 and 11. Other free antivirus software is available online.
The school can assist with the free downloading of Microsoft Office 365 during onboarding.
Please note:
- iPads and other tablets will not suffice. Surface RT, Windows 7, 8, 10 in S-Mode, Linux, Google Chromebook and Android Operating Systems are NOT SUPPORTED Operating Systems. Click here for instructions on how to switch out of Windows 10 S-Mode.
- No Mobile Phones are allowed on the BYO network.
- Students are entitled to connect up to 3 devices to the BYO network.
- Devices that have 64GB or less hard drive space do not have the necessary storage for required software and OneNote Notebook synchronisation.
- Devices that have an Intel Atom or Intel Celeron Processor have performance limitations which will impact on the student's learning experience and software capabilities.
